On occasion,  St. Joseph’s School has a themed casual day to raise money for a local non-for-profit organization.  With the staff being acquainted with individuals who have been affected by lupus,  it was a natural choice for them to support BC Lupus Society by fundraising for the  “Shed Light on Lupus, Live for Sammi Walk”.

Ms. N Ferland and the Toonie!

On June 21, the students were asked to bring in $2 (toonie) to donate to BC Lupus Society.  For their donation, the students were able to dress in their casual summer clothes instead of their school uniform.  Ms. N Ferland, a staff member at St. Joseph’s adds, “We were very excited to help BC Lupus Society and we look forward to having another casual day for them!

Of the 190 student body at St. Joseph’s, almost every student brought in a toonie.  For just one day of fundraising, the student body donated an amazing total of $377 that will all be designated towards the “Newly Diagnosed Lupus Patients in BC Program” with BC Lupus Society.

Thank you again to all the staff and students of St. Joseph’s School!
